Dr. Ronald L. Hopping

 

Dr. Ronald L. Hopping is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is an honor graduate of Southern California College of Optometry, Kenyon College in Ohio and received the Honorary Degree Doctor of Ocular Science from the Southern College of Optometry. He also obtained his Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas. Dr. Hopping is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. His specialty is contact lenses and adult vision correction and eye health. His excellence in contact lens skills was recognized by the American Academy of Optometry when he was awarded the distinction of Diplomate in Cornea and Contact Lenses, one of five in Texas and 135 in the world. Dr. Hopping is a past president of the Texas Optometric Association and has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1974. In June of 2012 Dr. Hopping assumed the presidency of the American Optometric Association.  He served as the association’s 91st president after his father served as the 50th president.  They are the first father/son presidents in the history of the AOA.  He has served on many national committees in the areas of legislation, contact lenses, sports vision, communications and practice management. Since 1980, Dr. Ronald Hopping has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Additionally, he is nationally recognized as one of 100 Distinguished Practitioners in the National Academy of Practitioners for Optometry.


 



Dr. Desiree T. Hopping

 

Dr. Desiree T. Hopping is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is a graduate of Rice University and the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Hopping is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  Her specialty is learning disabilities. Dr. Hopping has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1977 and the American Academy of Optometry since 1984. She is also an active member of the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Hopping is a past president and an active board member of the Foundation for Education and Research in Vision (FERV) and is an associate member of the College of Vision Development (COVD). She has given numerous lectures on vision perceptual disorders, dyslexia, and other visual and learning problems. She is a two-time past president of the Bay Area Pilot Club. Dr. Hopping is also the director of the Vision and Learning center.




Dr. Vissett S. Sun
   

Dr. Vissett Sun is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  He specializes in contact lenses and laser vision correction. Dr. Sun is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Sun is a clinical investigator for several contact lens manufacturers and has helped to develop advanced contact lens designs. He has given lectures for continuing education on contact lens and laser vision correction. He is an active member of the Space Center Rotary Club and is past president of the Harris County Optometric Society. He is also an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Sun is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. The Texas Optometric Association has recognized Dr. Sun as the 2005 Young Optometrist of the Year.  Recently, he made his first hole in one on St Patrick's Day 2013.

 

 

Dr. Martin Prati

 

Dr. Martin Prati is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist.  In May of 2004, he graduated as Valedictorian from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he is now an Adjunct Clinical Professor.  Dr. Prati is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science.  Dr. Prati serves on the Board of Directors for the Harris County Optometric Society as well as the Foundation for Education and Research in Vision. He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.  Born in La Plata, Argentina, he is fluent in Spanish and English.  Outside of work, Dr. Prati enjoys playing golf, volunteering on a Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo committee, and spending time with his wife Carrie and twin sons, Jack and Kyle.
